Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently held in Tihar jail over the alleged liquor scam case, reportedly received insulin after his blood sugar level spiked to 320. This development occurred amidst ongoing accusations from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) against the Centre, alleging negligence towards Kejriwal’s medical needs and insinuating a conspiracy to harm him.
Kejriwal’s incarceration, which began following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), has seen a series of health concerns emerge. This recent instance marked the first administration of insulin since his arrest, prompted by a gradual rise in his blood sugar levels.
While Kejriwal’s judicial custody is slated to conclude on April 23, his plea for regular medical consultations was dismissed by the Rouse Avenue court on Monday. AAP has seized upon this decision to intensify its criticism of the Centre, accusing it of both medical neglect and deliberate endangerment of the Delhi Chief Minister’s health.
The party’s allegations center on the government’s purported refusal to address Kejriwal’s health concerns and its obstruction of necessary medical treatments, such as insulin administration. As tensions escalate between AAP and the Centre, the situation surrounding Kejriwal’s health remains a focal point of contention.
