Ashok Gehlot Alleges BJP’s ‘Conspiracy’ in ‘Red Diary’ and Mahadev App Cases to Influence Assembly Elections

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot accused the BJP of orchestrating a ‘conspiracy’ to secure victories in the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, citing the ‘red diary’ issue and the Mahadev online betting app case. Gehlot expressed his concern about the BJP’s strategy, asserting that the party had planned for Prime Minister Modi to address these matters a week in advance.

During a press conference, Gehlot criticized the BJP for publishing full-page newspaper advertisements featuring news clippings on crime incidents in Rajasthan, labeling it an attempt to “mislead people and hatch conspiracies” for electoral gains.

Gehlot also took aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his comments on the late Congress leader Rajesh Pilot, alleging that the BJP aims to “provoke” the Gurjar community in the state.

The ‘red diary’ issue emerged when a dismissed minister in the state government claimed to possess a red-colored diary containing details of alleged financial irregularities committed by the Gehlot government.

PM Modi, referring to the Gehlot-Pilot rift, accused the Congress of sidelining Sachin Pilot, drawing parallels to the treatment meted out to his father Rajesh Pilot. Modi asserted that anyone in the party speaking the truth is ousted from politics.

During an election rally in Rajasthan, PM Modi alleged the existence of a ‘second red diary’ in possession of state minister Shanti Dhariwal, suggesting that it compelled the senior leadership in Delhi to offer him a ticket for the upcoming election, despite his earlier ‘derogatory’ remarks related to incidents of rape in the state.

The BJP has consistently targeted the Congress government in Rajasthan over the ‘red diary’ matter and the Mahadev betting app case.
