Ayodhya is abuzz with excitement as it readies itself to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30. The temple town is adorned with flowers, murals, and ornamental columns, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The occasion marks the inauguration of the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station and the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, ahead of the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple on January 22.

Vaibhav Mishra and Mohit Mishra, representing Ayodhya and Kashi respectively, will welcome the Prime Minister with traditional conch blowing and Damru beats. The city anticipates a gathering of approximately 1.5 lakh people for the hour-long rally, after which Modi is set to depart from Ayodhya.

Despite dense fog in the past two days, preparations are on track, affirmed Gaurav Dayal, the Divisional Commissioner of Ayodhya. Temporary wooden barricades line the recently redeveloped Ram Path and other routes along Modi’s journey from the airport to the railway station.

The Ayodhya divisional commissioner assured that the city is well-prepared for the Prime Minister’s visit, with decorations featuring flowers, reserved hospital beds, and heightened security measures. Various artists from across India will showcase cultural performances, including Awadhi and Vantangiya dances.

Noteworthy efforts include interpretation walls along Dharm Path, depicting the life of Lord Ram, and posters celebrating Ayodhya as a city of “Maryada, Dharm, and Sanskriti.” The Sri Ram Hospital in Ayodhya has reserved beds for potential medical needs during the visit.

PM Modi’s itinerary includes inaugurating the Ayodhya railway station and airport, participating in a public event unveiling development projects worth over ₹15,700 crore, and flagging off new Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains. Additionally, projects worth over ₹11,100 crore for Ayodhya’s civic facilities and infrastructure development, along with projects worth ₹4,600 crore for other parts of Uttar Pradesh, will be launched.

To enhance accessibility to the upcoming Ram temple, four newly redeveloped roads—Ram Path, Bhakti Path, Dharm Path, and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Path—will be inaugurated. The Prime Minister’s visit is anticipated with great enthusiasm, symbolizing a momentous chapter in Ayodhya’s ongoing transformation.
