In a bold move echoing the recent wrestling federation controversy, Bajrang Punia, the accomplished wrestler, has chosen to return his Padma Shri award in protest of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief election.

This decision comes on the heels of wrestler Sakshi Malik’s retirement, who cited similar concerns over the appointment of Sanjay Singh, a close aide to Brij Bhushan, as the WFI chief.

This is just my letter to announce that. This is my statement,” tweeted Bajrang Punia, making his protest public.
