West Bengal: A youth reportedly committed suicide in Bankura district of West Bengal after India loss to Australia in the ODI World Cup final. His family members informed about it. He was 23-year-old.
The police officer said that the deceased youth has been identified as Rahul Lohar. He said that the incident took place near the cinema hall in Beliatore police station area around 11 pm on Sunday night.
According to the police report, he worked at a clothing shop in the Lohar area and had taken leave on Sunday to watch the final match. His brother-in-law Uttam Sur said that he committed suicide in his room after being saddened by India’s defeat to Australia. He claimed, otherwise there was no such problem in his life.
After the incident, Police said that his body was sent to Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem on Monday morning and a case of unnatural death was registered.
He told that there was no one in the house at the time of the incident. Police declined to comment on the cause of death, saying the investigation was ongoing. India lost the World Cup title match to Australia by six wickets in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
