Currently, the Ather offers two models in India, the 450 Plus and the costlier 450X, which are priced at ₹1.19 lakh and ₹1.42 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) respectively. It is worth mentioning that a report, launched on Tuesday, said the electric two-wheeler sales in the country are expected to grow to around 22 million by 2030.
The company launched its first scooter, the Ather 450, in 2018 and replaced it with the new-generation model 450X two years later. It took the company more than 4 years to achieve this milestone and while this number may seem small in the traditional sense, we must consider the fact that the company has had to face several challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the global parts shortage. Challenges had to be faced. Among comparable rivals, Ola Electric managed to achieve the same feat in less than a year.

According to the report, the total EV penetration in India(including two wheeler and cars) stood at 3 per cent of the total automobile sales in 2022.
The Ather 450X third-generation model was launched in India last year, which comes with a 3.7 kWh battery with a claimed range of 105 km per charge. It is powered by a 6.2 kW (8 bhp) motor, which helps the scooter to accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 3.3 seconds and can top out at around 90 kmph.
