INS Vikrant returns to Navy after 25 years:
INS Vikrant, which retired from the Navy on 31 January 1997, was re-inducted into the Navy after 25 years. In the war of 1971, INS Vikrant destroyed enemy bases in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Khulna in Bangladesh with its Seahawk fighter jets. Had given.
INS Vikramaditya is a warship made in Russia. It was commissioned by Defense Minister AK Antony in Russia on 16 November 2013. On 14 June 2014, PM Modi formally commissioned INS Vikramaditya into the Indian Navy.The length of Vikramaditya’s floating airfield is about 284 meters. Its height is about the same as a 20-storey building. 22 decks have been made in it. INS Vikramaditya with all these facilities is capable of keeping itself at sea for 45 days. It has sensors of long range air surveillance radar, advanced electronic warfare suite. It is capable of monitoring an area of more than 500 km. It has the capacity to carry more than 30 aircraft. Which includes MiG-29, Kamov-31, Kamov-28, Seaking ALH-Dhruv and Chetak helicopters.
NS Vikrant has been built by Cochin Shipyard Limited ie CSL. It has been designed by the Warship Design Bureau, formerly known as the Directorate of Naval Design. It is the in-house design organization of the Indian Navy. INS Vikrant weighing 45 thousand tonnes is the largest warship made in India. This is the second aircraft carrier of the country after INS Vikramaditya.
