BJP Chief Accuses Congress of Turning Karnataka into a Corruption ATM

New Delhi: J P Nadda, the President of the BJP, launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, asserting that the only guarantee they provide is one of “loot.” He accused the Congress of transforming Karnataka into an “ATM” for accumulating funds through corruption to finance their election campaigns.

Mr. Nadda pointed to reports of over ₹100 crore being recovered from certain contractors in raids conducted by investigative agencies in Karnataka, describing it as a disgraceful and outrageous jest with voters.

He characterized this as a mere glimpse of the Congress party’s corrupt practices, emphasizing the connection between the Congress and corruption.

Mr. Nadda also referred to a “Congress-supported” contractor who had made allegations against the BJP during the recent Karnataka elections, alluding to claims that contractors were compelled to pay substantial commissions under BJP rule.

He asserted that the Congress and corruption are intertwined, with Congress governments transforming Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan into centers of corruption and aiming to do the same in Telangana and Madhya Pradesh.

According to Mr. Nadda, the Congress aspires to assume power in Madhya Pradesh and Telangana to siphon off funds intended for the welfare of the poor and the development of states.

He concluded by stating that the Congress can only offer a guarantee of corruption and accused the party of making guarantees instead of promises, despite their penchant for promising specific welfare measures.

Mr. Nadda contended that corruption has proliferated in Karnataka since the Congress came to power, underscoring that the Congress guarantee invariably leads to corruption.

Income Tax officials have discovered substantial cash during their raids on various individuals, including a contractor, his son, a gym instructor, and an architect in Karnataka.

The BJP and the Congress are currently engaged in hotly contested state assembly elections, particularly in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, where they are vying for power, along with the ruling BRS in Telangana.
