BJP Worker Among Trio Apprehended with Rs 4 Crore Cash in Chennai

Chennai: A startling discovery unfolded at Chennai’s Tambaram railway station as authorities apprehended three individuals, one of whom is identified as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker, for carrying a staggering sum of Rs 4 crore in cash packed within six bags.

The detained individuals were revealed to be Sathish, a BJP member and manager of a private hotel, his brother Naveen, and their driver Perumal. Their intended journey to Tirunelveli was halted when the flying squad intervened, suspicious of the large amount of cash in their possession.

Sources disclosed that Sathish purportedly admitted to acting under the directives of a team associated with Tirunelveli’s BJP MP candidate, Nainar Nagenthiran.

This development comes mere days before Tamil Nadu, boasting 39 Lok Sabha seats, heads to the polls on April 19 for the election slated in a single phase. The incident adds a layer of intrigue to the electoral landscape, with voting outcomes anticipated to significantly impact the political landscape of the region.

As the electoral process unfolds, authorities remain vigilant, ensuring adherence to electoral guidelines and investigating any potential irregularities that may influence the democratic process.
