Case registered against Nepal national for abusing cabin crew member onboard on Air India flight

New Delhi, Jagran Correspondent. In an Air India flight coming from Toronto to New Delhi, a passenger of Nepalese origin created a ruckus during the flight. The passenger remained uncontrollable for most part of the journey of thousands of kilometers from Toronto to New Delhi. Not only the crew members present in the flight but also the passengers lost their sweat in controlling the accused passenger.

The situation was such that not one or two but a dozen people had to gather to control the accused. Meanwhile, the pilot continued to inquire about the movements of the unruly passenger and give necessary instructions to the crew members. After the plane landed safely at IGI Airport, the accused passenger was handed over to the police.

An FIR has been lodged against the accused under sections 323, 336 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 22, 23 and 25 of the Aircraft Rules. The inspection of the matter is going on.

The name of the accused passenger is Mahesh Singh Pandit. On July 8, he boarded an Air India flight at the Toronto airport to board a flight to New Delhi. Shortly after take-off, the accused voluntarily changed his seat. When the crew member objected to this, he resorted to abusing. Somehow he was pacified.

Started smoking cigarette in toilet, pushed to stop
When the crew members were serving lunch to the passengers, they found something burning in the toilet. The aircraft’s alarm system warned of this. The crew members then ran towards the toilet. Amid apprehension of untoward incident, when the door was opened, Mahesh Singh was seen inside.

He had a lighter in his hand and there was smoke inside. He pushed the crew member away and ran to his seat before the crew member could interrupt him. The crew member tried to stop him with the help of two passengers but once again he pushed the crew member.

Meanwhile, he also broke the door of the toilet. His abusing also continued. Seeing the matter worsening, the crew member informed the pilot of the aircraft about the handiwork of the accused.

The pilot instructed the crew members to control the accused as per SOP. After this, the activities of the accused went on increasing. The more efforts were made to control him with the help of the passengers, the more he became uncontrollable.

In the end, 10 passengers and two crew members succeeded in controlling it with collective efforts. Before being overpowered, the accused also assaulted the passenger.

Aircraft emergency gate opened
During the flight of Indigo flight coming from Hyderabad to Delhi, the sound of emergency alarm suddenly raised the ears of not only the passengers but also the crew members. Investigation revealed that the cover of the emergency exit of the aircraft was pulled by a passenger. Soon the crew members reached there and the cover was closed.

In order to avoid such act by the passenger again, arrangements were made for him to sit on a seat where there is no emergency exit gate. On the complaint of the crew member, the IGI police station has lodged an FIR against the accused. The name of the accused is Furkan Hussain.

It has been said in the complaint that even after the necessary guidelines were explained to all the passengers in both English and Hindi before the flight, the action of the accused is going to endanger the safety of the aircraft.
