Devotees to Register at Haridwar and Rishikesh; Daily Ceiling Limit Set.
Offline registrations for the highly anticipated Chardham Yatra 2024 will kick off on May 8, 2024, providing pilgrims with the opportunity to embark on this sacred journey to the four Hindu shrines – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Registrations will be facilitated at Rahi Motel in Haridwar and Yatra Registration Office & Transit Camp in Rishikesh.
To streamline the registration process and manage pilgrim influx, a daily ceiling limit has been set for offline registrations. Rishikesh will accommodate up to 1000 registrations per day per dham, while Haridwar will cater to 500 registrations per day per dham. The Chardham Yatra is scheduled to commence on May 10, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, and is expected to continue until November.
In a bid to ensure smooth conduct and management of the Chardham Yatra, Uttarakhand Chardham Teerth Purohit Mahapanchayat has nominated two Teerth Purohits from each Dham to coordinate with the Uttarakhand Tourism Department. These nominated Purohits will play a pivotal role in facilitating a seamless experience for pilgrims throughout the journey.
The Chardham Yatra, an annual pilgrimage, holds deep religious significance for Hindus worldwide. Derived from the Hindi words ‘Char’ meaning four and ‘Dham’ meaning religious places, the Chardham Yatra epitomizes the spiritual journey to the revered shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
For pilgrims opting for online registration, the process involves visiting the official website registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in, where they can either register or log in. After entering personal details and receiving an OTP on their registered mobile number, pilgrims can proceed to fill out the registration form with travel dates and other necessary information. Upon submission, a unique registration number will be provided, facilitating the download or printing of the Chardham Yatra 2024 registration letter.
