CM Kejriwal to appear before CBI today in Excise Scam Case, Mann along with many AAP leaders

New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will appear before the CBI on Sunday in the excise scam case along with his cabinet and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Apart from these, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior office bearers, MPs, MLAs and Corporation Councilors will also be among those going to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters here along with the party supremo. He claimed that BJP leaders were demanding his arrest and if the BJP had ordered the investigating agency to arrest him, it could not have refused to do so.

The CBI has issued a summons to the AAP leader to appear at its headquarters at 11 am on Sunday. The investigating agency has already arrested former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in this case. Kejriwal targeted PM Narendra Modi for leveling corruption charges against him.

Chief Minister for 12 years during the 30-year rule of BJP in Gujarat, but the condition of no school improved. Delhi’s AAP government transformed government schools in 5 years. He said that BJP is trying to sideline AAP. BJP earlier sent Satyendar Jain and Manish Sisodia to jail. Now she wants to arrest him.

Kejriwal alleged that CBI and ED lied in court that Sisodia had destroyed 14 phones to hide evidence. The ED’s seizure memo shows that four of the 14 phones are in his possession, while one is with the CBI. Our own investigation revealed that the remaining nine phones (numbers) were active and were being used by people like AAP volunteers.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) may question Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on important points related to its probe into the excise policy scam. Officials said, the agency may question the Chief Minister about the policy-making process, especially the ‘missing’ file.

The file contained expert committee, public and legal opinion on the policy, officials said. This file was not even placed before the cabinet and now it is not even available. The agency may also question Kejriwal about the statements of other accused, in which they have indicated that the policy was allegedly influenced to benefit some liquor businessmen and the southern liquor lobby.

Apart from this, the agency may seek information about his role in the formulation of excise policy and the alleged influence exerted by traders and members of the southern lobby.
