New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets in the 29th match of IPL 2023. With this win, Chennai has 8 points and remains at the third position in the points table. Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first, could only manage 134 runs for seven wickets. In response, Chennai Super Kings won the match with 7 balls to spare thanks to Devon Conway’s half-century. For Chennai, opener Devon Conway remained unbeaten after scoring the highest 77 runs.

Chasing the target of 135 runs by Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings got off to a great start. Rituraj Gaikwad and Devon Conway hit 60 runs in the powerplay itself. There was an 87-run partnership in 66 balls for the first wicket between the two. Rituraj Gaikwad was run out after scoring 35 runs in 30 balls. Ajinkya Rahane contributed 9 runs. Ambati got out after scoring 9 runs. After this, Ali and Conway shared a 16-run partnership to win the team. Devon Conway remained unbeaten on 77 off 57 balls. He hit 12 fours and a six in his innings.

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first in the match against Chennai Super Kings, scored 134 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma scored the highest 34 runs for Hyderabad. Ravindra Jadeja took 3, Mahish, Akash and Pathirana took 1-1 wickets for Chennai Super Kings. Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a good start. The team scored 34 runs in the first 4 overs. But Harry Brook got out after scoring 18 runs in the 5th over. Abhishek got out after scoring 34 runs in 26 balls.

After this Hyderabad dropped wickets at frequent intervals. Rahul Tripathi 21, Captain Aiden Markram contributed 12 runs. Heinrich Klaasen got out after scoring 17 runs. Mayank Agarwal could only score two runs. Washington Sundar scored 9 runs. Marco Jansen remained unbeaten on 17 runs.
