New Delhi : In preparation for the IPL matches set to take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 7 and 14, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced an extension of its last train timings across all lines. This decision aims to facilitate hassle-free transportation for spectators attending the cricket extravaganza.
The DMRC’s official statement, shared on X, assured commuters of extended last train timings on all metro lines, specifically catering to the influx of spectators flocking to the stadium for the IPL matches.

In tandem with the DMRC’s initiative, the Delhi Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory ahead of the cricket matches. Notably, there will be diversions and restrictions on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg (BSZ Marg) and JLN Marg during the scheduled match hours. Commuters are urged to avoid these routes, specifically the BZM Marg from Delhi Gate to ITO Chowk and JLN Marg from Rajghat to Delhi Gate, between 5 pm to 8 pm on match days.
To streamline transportation for spectators, shuttle services will be available at the ITO Metro Station and Pragati Maidan Metro Station. Additionally, the convenience of park and ride facilities is offered at Mata Sundari Marg parking for gates numbers 1 to 8 and 16 to 18, as well as Rajghat power house road and Velodrome Road for gate number 9 to 15. This allows spectators to park their vehicles at designated locations and utilize shuttle services to reach the stadium efficiently.
The general public and motorists are advised to exercise patience, adhere to traffic regulations, and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed at key intersections. Staying informed and following updates from authorities is emphasized to ensure a smooth commuting experience during the IPL matches.
