New Delhi: An official said that a 36-year-old female tarot card reader was raped by a man known to her in Neb Sarai area of Delhi. The female tarot card reader had met the accused man in January when he had approached her for help in selling a property and they later befriended him on the pretext that he wanted to learn astrology from her.
The 36-year-old logged a police complaint on February 11 saying she had contacted the accused. The accused was identified as 40-year-old Gaurav Aggarwal, in January regarding the sale of a property. She said Aggarwal visited his residence and assured him that he would help in the sale of the property.
The woman also said that when she came to know that I was interested in astrology, he pretended that he too was interested in it and started calling her on the pretext that he wanted to learn this astrology from her.
On January 24, the man called him to a friend’s house in Neb Sarai to finalize the property deal. The woman claimed that she became unconscious after allegedly drinking a drink laced with drugs, during which he raped her.
Police said that based on the complaint of the woman, an FIR has been registered and a case under section 328/376/506 of the IPC has been registered against the man, who is currently absconding.
According to the FIR, the woman told her husband about the incident on February 10 and both of them went to meet Aggarwal at his office in Malviya Nagar, according to the report. But he denied any wrongdoing and verbally abused and threatened the couple. Investigation is being done to nab the accused.
