Delhi: CM Kejriwal inaugurates three-lane Sarai Kale Khan flyover

New Delhi: Today, The three-lane Sarai Kale Khan flyover inaugurated by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the national capital. He claimed that his government has saved crores of rupees by completing the projects on time.

After the inauguration, CM Kejriwal said, “This flyover is going to benefit people a lot… This will help in reducing the traffic jams on the T junction. It’s a 620 m-long flyover. Rs 66 crores were sanctioned for this project. Since we have formed a government in Delhi, we have saved money in every project. Similarly in this project, we were sanctioned Rs 66 crores, but we completed it in Rs 50 crores. This will provide convenience to those who travel from ITO to Ashram.”

The CM said,”This feat should be mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records.” The additional half flyover at Sarai Kale Khan is 545 metres long, and it will have three lanes, ramps, stilt portions and loops for U-turns.

The upside ramp portion will be approximately 90 metres, the downside ramp will be 95 metres, and the stilt portion will be approximately 360 metres. Public Works Department (PWD) minister Atishi said the Kejriwal government has transformed the area between Sarai Kale Khan and Ashram.

She added, “Earlier, going to Ashram meant getting stuck in hours-long jams but the DND extension till Ashram and the underpass have solved that issue. The opening of this flyover will make Sarai Kale Khan jam-free.” Earlier, the location sees huge traffic jams due to ongoing construction work. Now, the ride between South East Delhi, Sarai Kale Khan, ITO, IP, Pragati Maidan and routes towards East Delhi will be smooth and congestion-free, said officials.
