New Delhi: Delhi court is expected to hear the bail application of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today i.e. on Saturday. Today he has to be produced before the judge, the time of his five days CBI custody is coming to an end. Manish Sisodia, arrested in a corruption case related to Delhi’s alleged Excise Scam, filed a bail application in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court yesterday.

His lawyer Hrishikesh said that the bail application will be heard by Special Judge M.K. Filed in front of Nagpal (M K Nagpal). Who listed the matter for hearing on Saturday.

Manish Sisodia has said in his bail application that he has always joined and cooperated in the investigation when called by the CBI. Therefore, keeping them in custody will not serve any worthwhile purpose, as all the seizures have already taken place. According to media reports, AAP leader Manish Sisodia will be produced in the court around 2 pm. Sources also claimed that the CBI would seek further extension of Sisodia’s custody.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to hear the petition of former Delhi Deputy CM Sisodia challenging the CBI’s arrest. The Supreme Court had asked him to approach the High Court for bail. Only after this Sisodia applied for bail in Rouse Avenue Court. Earlier, a special court in Delhi had on Monday sent Sisodia on five-day CBI remand in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam case.

According to the CBI’s claim, its investigation found that there were alleged irregularities in both the formulation and implementation of the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22. Its purpose was to benefit people having links with AAP. The probe agency also claimed that under the new liquor policy, the Delhi government favored some dealers in granting licenses to liquor traders. Who had allegedly bribed for this. The Aam Aadmi Party has strongly denied this allegation. Later Delhi’s new liquor policy was scrapped.
