In a distressing turn of events, Ankit Chaudhary, an engineer from Delhi, has become the victim of a cryptocurrency scam, losing approximately ₹12 lakhs. The scam unfolded through enticing messages received on a Telegram channel, luring him into making investments in cryptocurrency.
Delhi Engineer Loses Rs 12 Lakhs in Crypto Scam. Initially investing a modest sum of 10 thousand, Ankit was encouraged by returns of 15 thousand, fostering a false sense of trust. Succumbing to the allure, he proceeded to invest larger amounts, eventually totaling ₹12 lakhs, only to realize that the promised returns were not forthcoming.
Crypto Scam via Telegram Channel. Ankit shared his experience, stating, “I received a message on a Telegram channel asking me to invest in cryptocurrency. Initially, I invested 10 thousand, and after some time, I received 15 thousand in return. Subsequently, I invested 15 thousand, and similarly, I received 20 thousand. Due to this, I became greedy and invested about ₹12 lakh in different transactions, but I did not get my money back.”
Crypto Scam in Delhi. Prompted by Ankit’s grievance, the Delhi Police has taken action by registering an FIR under Section 420 at the Cyber Police station of the North East District. An active investigation is now underway to address this unfortunate incident of financial deception.
