Delhi-NCR wakes up to rain lashes parts of the city, roads waterlogged; Schools shut in Noida

Due to the rise in the water level of Hindon, many people have been rescued from the low-lying areas and taken to safer places. The flood-affected areas of Greater Noida include Ecotech in Noida Sector 63 and Chijarsi area.

New Delhi: Monsoon continues to lash parts of India. After Delhi, now flood havoc is being seen in Ghaziabad. After Yamuna and Ganga river, now the water level of Hindon river is increasing continuously. Because of this, flood water has entered many areas of Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida. Meanwhile, a video is going viral on social media. In this, about 350 cars are seen submerged in an open field of Greater Noida due to the water of Hindon river entering.

Along with Delhi, parts of Noida and Ghaziabad were also hit by rain during the early hours of Wednesday morning. There are dark clouds in the sky and water is filled in many places. In such a situation, the people going to the office in the morning are facing a lot of trouble. Due to the dark clouds, it did not seem that it was morning. People are also facing a lot of difficulty in driving vehicles in such rains.

Weather forecasting agency Skymet had issued a warning saying that there would be heavy rains. It also stated that a cyclonic circulation has formed over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal (BOB) during the last 48 hours. Due to which it will rain in many states.

Many areas including Delhi NCR received heavy rains on Tuesday as well. Due to the heavy rains, the people here got a lot of relief from the scorching heat and humidity. Due to heavy rains and floods in the Hindon river, many areas of Noida were waterlogged. It became a havoc for the people of Noida Eco-Tech area, in this waterlogging, more than 500 vehicles were seen floating in the water. Its video is becoming fiercely viral on social media. People are getting mixed reactions on this.

Water filled in flat due to overflow
Due to the rain, sewers started hitting back in many places in Noida, due to which water started filling in the houses instead of coming out in many places. Such a situation was also seen in Gaur City Society of Noida Extension, where the sewer system is overflowing due to rain, due to which the water is coming inside the flats and houses by overflowing the exit. Local people have shared its video on social media.

Meanwhile, Noida and other parts of the National Capital Region received light to moderate rains in the early hours of Tuesday. By afternoon, the Yamuna river was flowing slightly above the danger mark of 205.33 metres. The water level of Yamuna was recorded at 205.4 meters in the afternoon.

Water filled in the basement of many societies of Noida

According to the news published in NBT, due to heavy rains, many societies and roads of Noida Extension got waterlogged. During this, apart from Gaur City Part-1 and 2, water accumulated in Eco Village and Galaxy Society campus and basement. Due to this, flood like situation happened here. Some time after the rain stopped, this water started coming out.

Schools closed in Noida
In the wake of heavy rains in the NCR, the Noida district administration on Wednesday announced that all schools in the region would remain closed for the day.

The announcement came following waterlogging in several areas.

IMD has issued an alert for Maharashtra, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The weather forecaster said that heavy to very heavy rain is continuing over Saurashtra-Kutch region, Madhya Maharashtra, Goa and Coastal Karnataka. The ANI report said that the flood situation in Gujarat is likely to improve, as the rainfall has reduced in the state in the last 24 hours.
