Delhi traffic advisory: New Parliament building inauguration on May 28, check routes to avoid

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the country's new parliament on May 28. Several VVIPs/VIPs and other dignitaries are expected to attend the inaugural function. An advisory has been issued by the Delhi Traffic Police regarding this. The police have advised people to avoid coming to the New Delhi area if it is not necessary.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the country’s new parliament on May 28. Several VVIPs/VIPs and other dignitaries are expected to attend the inaugural function. An advisory has been issued by the Delhi Traffic Police regarding this. The police have advised people to avoid coming to the New Delhi area if it is not necessary.

At the same time, North India’s largest Khap Panchayat has called a mahapanchayat in front of the new Parliament House on May 28 in support of the wrestlers sitting on a dharna at Jantar Mantar against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. In view of this, Delhi Police is in alert mode regarding security arrangements.

Traffic advisory of Delhi Police-

-Only public transport, civil service candidates, domicile of Delhi, labeled vehicles and emergency vehicles will be allowed in New Delhi district.

-From Mother Teresa Ceresent Road Golchakkar (R/A), Talkatora, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, R/A Gol Dak Khana, Ashoka Road, R/A Patel Chowk, Ashoka Road, R/A Windsor Place, Janpath, R/A MLNP The cordoned off area, Akbar Road, R/A Gol Methi, Akbar Road, R/A GKP, Teen Murti Marg, R/A Teen Murti and Mother Teresa Ceresent Road will be considered as regulated areas.

-Only civil service candidates, bonafide residents, labeled vehicles and emergency vehicles will be allowed to move in and out of this zone.

-General public and motorists are advised to exercise patience. Follow traffic rules and road discipline. Follow the instructions of traffic personnel posted at all intersections. Also stay updated through Delhi Traffic Police’s Facebook page, Twitter handle, website and helpline.

-People out on the road have been appealed to plan their travel well in advance and avoid coming to New Delhi district between 5:30 am to 3:00 pm for their convenience.

-Civil Services candidates, whose examination centers are located in New Delhi district, are requested to plan their travel a little early and reach the centers with sufficient time to avoid inconvenience.

According to top Delhi Police sources, the wrestlers have not been allowed to reach the new Parliament as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building on the same day. According to sources, on May 28, all roads around Jantar Mantar that lead to Parliament will be closed. Apart from this, a large number of police force and paramilitary personnel will also be deployed. The deployment of women police personnel will be more than before.

According to Delhi Police sources, talks are on to hold the Khap Panchayat at an alternative place. It may be allowed at any other place, but Khap Panchayat will not be allowed in the new Parliament. Top Delhi Police sources said that more than 20 police companies will be deployed on May 28 in New Delhi. Out of this, more than 10 women companies will be involved.

Sources said that the Metro stations near Parliament will remain closed on May 28. A letter has been sent to Delhi Metro directing them to close 2 metro stations. Senior Delhi Police officials told that farmers from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana may try to enter the national capital on this occasion. Around 90 khaps with around 3,000 people can enter Delhi.

Sources said that after a high-level meeting, Delhi Police officials told that barricading will be done at all the borders of Delhi-Singhu Border, Dilshad Garden Border, Badarpur Border and Tikri Border. Apart from the police, paramilitary forces will also be deployed on the border.

According to sources, a demand has been made for 6 additional companies in the North East Delhi region, including two women companies. A police official from North East Delhi district told that no gathering will be allowed and people will not be allowed to enter Delhi from UP in an organized manner. Entry of local leaders will also be banned.
