Patna: Bihar is currently in the grip of scorching heat. On behalf of the district administration, people are being appealed to stay at home in the afternoon and take full care while going out. At the same time, sick, elderly and weak people have been advised to take special care.

Keeping in mind the scorching heat in Patna, big news has come out at the district administration level, according to which orders have been issued to keep all the schools in Patna closed till June 24 due to the current situation.

What is the order of the District Magistrate?

The District Magistrate has issued an order in this regard banning educational activities in all private and government schools up to class 12 including pre-schools and Anganwadi centers within the district.

In view of the scorching heat, this decision has been taken giving priority to the safety of the students. In the order issued on June 16, the District Magistrate said that this decision has been taken in view of the ongoing heat wave and high temperature in the district. The District Magistrate has said in his order that the extreme heat can harm the health and even the life of the children.

According to the Patna Meteorological Center, the southwest monsoon has reached Bihar a day before the normal date. Center’s senior meteorologist Ashish Kumar confirmed the onset of monsoon in several districts including Araria, Purnia, Kishanganj and Katihar.

People’s life has become difficult due to the scorching heat and heat stroke across the state. Many people have also lost their lives due to heat stroke. If this order of the District Magistrate will be effective from June 19, it will remain in force till June 24. Although summer vacations are going on in all government schools of the state, this decision has been taken keeping in mind many private schools.
