Dust storm to blow in North India today, yellow alert issued for Rajasthan

The IMD said that the sky would remain partly cloudy for the next four-five days and there could be slight respite from light rain till evening. The maximum temperature is expected to rise up to 44 degree Celsius by Sunday. The India Meteorological Department issued a "yellow alert" for dust storm and thunderstorm in several districts for the next three days in Rajasthan.

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department issued a “yellow alert” for dust storm and thunderstorm in several districts for the next three days in Rajasthan. After light to moderate rains occurred in parts of Rajasthan during the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature dropped by up to three degrees Celsius on Tuesday. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a dust storm in Ajmer, Alwar, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dhaulpur, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Kota, Sawai Madhopur.

Dust storm hit entire North India including Delhi-NCR on Tuesday. Seeing, the weather has changed again in many states. At some places it is raining heavily, at some places it is sunny and at some places people are troubled by dusty storms. Strong winds swept across Delhi on Tuesday morning, raising dust and affecting the air quality.

Satellite images released by the Meteorological Office show a thick layer of dust over large parts of northwest India. Meteorologists said dusty conditions have been created due to intense heat wave over northwest India in the last five days.

The sequence of ups and downs in the weather will continue on Wednesday. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the movement of light to medium high clouds is expected to continue. Partly cloudy skies are expected for the next five days, but there is no chance of rain. There was strong sunlight since Tuesday morning.

The weather of the state including the capital remained dry. Due to Purva, people were troubled by the humid heat in Patna and its surrounding areas. According to Meteorological Center Patna, a trough line is extending from North Bihar to Central Chhattisgarh. Due to its effect, rain activities will continue during May 17-20.

During the next 24 hours, a warning has been issued regarding thunderstorms with thunder in the northern parts of the state. During this, the wind speed is likely to be 30-40 kmph. On the other hand, on Thursday, apart from the northern parts, an alert has been issued regarding thunder, lightning and rain with wind speed of 40-50 km per hour in the southern parts including Patna.
