Earthquake of 5.6 magnitude hits Papua New Guinea

New Guinea: A Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Papua New Guinea on Wednesday. The European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said a magnitude 5.6 earthquake hit the New Guinea region of Papua New Guinea on Wednesday.

The earthquake was located 16 km west-northwest of Ambunti, Papua New Guinea and originated at an estimated depth of 112 km EMSC.

However, no loss of life has been reported so far.
