Toronto: Pro-Khalistan slogans were raised in the presence of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the Khalsa Day celebration held in Toronto. When this sloganeering took place, opposition leader Pierre Poilievre was also present there.

According to sources, in a video released by Canada-based CPAC TV, it is seen that when PM Trudeau walks towards the stage for his address, there is loud sloganeering. The same thing happened when Pierre Poilievre, leader of Canada’s official opposition, came on stage to address the people gathered at the event.

PM Trudeau has assured the Sikh community in the country and said that the government is always present to protect their rights and freedoms at all costs. He said, ‘One of Canada’s greatest strengths is its diversity. We are strong not despite our differences, but because of our differences. He said that Sikh values are Canadian values.

A video of the incident is going viral on the social media, which shows, Trudeau left with an embarrassed smile after he delivered his speech and pro-Khalistani chants were coined.

PM Trudeau said, ‘We will always be there to protect the rights and freedoms of the approximately 800,000 Canadians of Sikh heritage across the country, and we will always defend your community against hatred and discrimination.’

According to reports, thousands of people reached downtown Toronto on Sunday for one of the city’s largest annual celebrations.
