Elderly poet suffers heart attack, collapses on stage during performance in Uttarakhand | Watch

The entire incident was captured on CCTV camera and the video of the incident goes viral on social media and it can be seen in the video that the elderly man is reciting poetry on stage in front of huge crowd inside an auditorium of a university. The man suddenly collapsed on stage during the program and fell on another man who was sitting behind him on the stage.

Pantnagar: A distressing video has doing rounds on the internet in which a 68-year-old poet suffered heart attack and collapsed on stage while reciting poetry in Uttarakhand’s Pantnagar. The poet was reciting poetry at the Pantnagar Kavya Mahotsav which was organised in Pantnagar. The elderly man suffered heart attack and collapsed during the event.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV camera and the video of the incident goes viral on social media and it can be seen in the video that the elderly man is reciting poetry on stage in front of huge crowd inside an auditorium of a university. The man suddenly collapsed on stage during the program and fell on another man who was sitting behind him on the stage.

The organisers swiftly admitted him to the district hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. His family later took his body to his ancestral residence in Mathura. The incident took place at ‘Pantnagar Kavya Mahotsav’ which was organised at the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology to pay tribute to brave Indian soldiers.

The poet, identified as Subhash Chaturvedi, had retired from the position of Assistant Accountant at Pantnagar University in 2014 and resided in Jawahar Nagar.

Cases of sudden heart attacks are on the rise in the country. Last week, an Army personnel died of a heart attack while playing cricket during his leave in Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh.

The Army personnel was identified as Lance Naik Vinod Banskar, who had gone to play cricket in neighbouring village Birau on Sunday afternoon, where he complained of chest pain. His family members then took him to Tikamgarh’s district hospital, where he died later that night,

In another past incident, a man playing Lord Hanuman in a ‘Ramlila’ died on stage during the act in Haryana’s Bhiwani district due to a heart attack. During his performance, the man, identified as Harish, was supposed to bow at the feet of the man playing Lord Ram’s character. While enacting the scene, Harish collapsed and suffered a cardiac arrest.
