New Delhi: Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s judicial custody has been extended in Delhi’s Excise policy case. The Rouse Avenue Court on Monday (April 17) extended Manish Sisodia’s judicial custody till April 27 in the CBI case and April 29 in the ED case. The court also considered the arguments of the ED’s counsel that the agency is going to file the chargesheet by the end of this month.
The judicial custody of Arun Ramchandra Pillai and Amandeep Dhal, accused along with Manish Sisodia in the excise scam case, has also been extended. The Rouse Avenue Court has extended the judicial custody of Arun Pillai and Amandeep Dhal till April 29 in the case registered by the ED.
AAP leader Manish Sisodia was arrested on February 26 after nearly eight hours of questioning in the case and officials said his answers were not satisfactory. Later he resigned from the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi. The CBI had interrogated Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for about nine hours in the excise policy scam case.
After the CBI interrogation, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said on Sunday that the CBI asked him about 56 questions in the excise policy matter and he answered all of them. Kejriwal said that I want to say that the whole matter of excise policy is fake. They have no proof that Aam Aadmi Party is wrong. This is the result of dirty politics. They (CBI) asked me questions in a friendly and cordial manner. I answered all the questions asked by him.
