A gangster met his demise in a shootout with law enforcement near Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua. Tragically, Probationary Sub-Inspector Deepak Sharma succumbed to head injuries sustained during the encounter, confirmed police sources on Wednesday. Additionally, a special police officer incurred injuries during the operation.
In Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, there was a shootout between police and a gangster. Sadly, Probationary Sub-Inspector Deepak Sharma, who got hurt during the clash, passed away on Wednesday, as per the police.

Officials revealed that near the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital, police engaged in gunfire with a gangster. Unfortunately, Probationary Sub-Inspector Deepak Sharma, who was also injured during the exchange, didn’t survive, along with a special police officer who got hurt too.
The incident occurred following a tip-off, leading officers to pursue gangster Vasudev, a prime suspect in a murder case. The chase resulted in gunfire near the Government Medical College hospital around 10:30 pm on Tuesday.
Vasudev lost his life in the encounter, while one of his accomplices sustained injuries. Deepak Sharma suffered head injuries, and Special Police Officer Anil Kumar, aged 40, was also wounded. Both were first taken to GMC Hospital in Kathua and then transferred to Amandeep Hospital in Pathankot.
