Vande Bharat Express: Indian Railways is busy in operating Vande Bharat Express train in every state of the country, recently PM Modi has gifted Vande Bharat to Odisha and Uttarakhand. In this episode, one more state is going to join today. The North-Eastern states are going to get the gift of Vande Bharat, a semi-high speed train. This will be India’s 17th Vande Bharat train.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Assam’s first ‘Vande Bharat Express’ on Monday i.e. today. On this occasion, he will dedicate the newly electrified sections to the nation and also inaugurate the newly constructed DEMU and MEMU sheds. Prime Minister Narendra will flag off Assam’s first Vande Bharat Express today at 12 noon through video conferencing.

This train connecting Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri will help in saving about one hour in travel time as compared to the fastest train currently running between the two places. Vande Bharat will cover the journey in 5 hours 30 minutes, while the current fastest train takes 6 hours 30 minutes to cover the same journey. It will operate six days a week and will be after NJP-Howrah and Howrah-Puri trains. There will be third Vande Bharat in West Bengal.
tourism will get a boost
The PMO said that the state-of-the-art Vande Bharat Express will provide a means to travel with speed and comfort to the people of the region and will also give a boost to tourism in the region. This train connecting Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri will help save about one hour in travel time as compared to the fastest train at present.
