Kerala BJP: Former leader of Kerala unit of Congress Victor T Thomas joined BJP on Sunday (April 23). Thomas had resigned from the Kerala unit of the party last week. He was the president of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in Pathanamthitta district and also the district president of the Kerala Congress.

Thomas quit Congress and UDF and joined BJP on the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kerala. Joined the party in the presence of BJP state in-charge Prakash Javadekar. His departure is seen as another blow to the Joseph faction of the Kerala Congress, as two of its other leaders, former MLAs Johnny Nellore and VV Augustine, have recently left the party to form the National Progressive Party.

Praised PM Modi

Thomas also praised the work of the BJP-led central government and Prime Minister Modi and said that only the BJP can ensure comprehensive development in the state. On this occasion, Javadekar accused the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the UDF of not working for the development of the state.

After joining the BJP, the former UDF leader criticized the alliance, saying that many people were not working honestly and were not even capable enough to be a part of it. He alleged that many UDF members More interested in letting down your allies.
