Google accused by EU of ‘abused its dominant positions’ in online ads

California: Google has got a big blow from the European Union. Google has been accused that anti-competitive practices are being done by the company. According to the European Union, Google has been found guilty of anti-trust law.

This is the fourth time Google has been accused by the 27-nation European Union of abusing its control over the market for buying and selling online advertising. Google’s parent company Alphabet can be fined up to 10 percent of its annual profit.

According to the European Union, the company has said to benefit itself by accusing it of tampering with the rules related to ads. Explain that online advertising is the biggest source of total revenue of Google’s parent company Alphabet. Last year, the company received a revenue of $ 225 billion through online advertising.

Google objected to the decision of the European Union. “In this fiercely competitive sector, Google is committed to creating value for our publisher and advertiser partners,” said Dan Taylor, vice president of Google’s global ad business. We will reply from our side.

In the year 2021, the European Union investigated Google’s work related to ad technology. The UK’s Competition Authority is also probing Google’s ad tech practices.
