Gujarat: 5 people died after drinking contaminated syrup containing methyl alcohol in Gujarat. According to the information received, 2 people have been admitted to the hospital where their treatment is going on. Gujarat Police has given information about this incident.
A total of 5 people died in an accident in Kheda Nadiad area yesterday. Giving information about the case, State Police Chief Vikas Sahay said that poison was found in the methanol due to the drug manufacturing detector.
This syrup was sold for 50 to 55 people. Out of which three people have died after drinking the syrup. While the other two deceased did not drink the syrup, an investigation is being conducted to find out the cause of their death.
Kheda Police, Ahmedabad Rural Police and State Monitoring Cell are investigating the death of 5 people. The people involved in this incident are being interrogated. According to initial information, a person named Kishore was selling Ayurvedic medicine (cough syrup).
A person named Kishore sold this drug to 50 to 55 people. This medicine is like cough syrup or tonic. Three people died after drinking this medicine and investigation into the deaths of two others revealed that they were not given this cough syrup. An investigation was conducted into how the teen obtained the drugs and based on this information, two others were arrested.
According to Kishore, this medicine was given to 50 to 55 people. Health checkup of all these people has been done by Kheda Police and State Monitoring Cell. All the people are healthy, in which one person had a problem, he was treated in the hospital and now he is back home.
