Gurgaon: An official said that two toll plaza personnel were crushed to death by a car on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway in Farrukhnagar, Gurgaon on Monday. According to the police, they received information at 11.10 pm on Sunday that a speeding car had run over two KMP toll plaza employees and the driver “waited for 20 seconds” before fleeing.
The officer said that the deceased have been identified as crane helper Jai Kishan Sahni (21) and electrician Sonbir (26) from Agra. He added that the based on a complaint filed by a driver who was in the area when the accident took place, an FIR has been registered against the accused under Indian Penal Code sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304A (causing death by negligence).
About this incident, the diver said,“While on duty, driving from Badli towards Panchgaon, I saw two persons standing near one of the sides of the Farukhnagar KMP toll plaza… looked like they were waiting for someone. Suddenly, a speeding car from the Badli side hit both of them. The driver waited for 20 seconds before fleeing… When I went near the injured men, I realised they were my colleagues working at the KMP toll plaza.”
He further said,” I observed that the number plate of the vehicle was broken and had fallen off the vehicle. Both of them were severely injured, and… I could not feel their pulse. I informed the toll manager, and called an ambulance to take the injured men to Civil Hospital in Sector 10.” He added that Sonbir had been working at the toll plaza for 2.5 years and Kishan joined just 10 days ago.
The investigating officer said that the deceased Sonbir’s post-mortem was done and his body was handed over to his family on Monday. The officer said, “The post-mortem of the second victim will also be conducted soon. We have identified the car – Tata Nexon – and the driver. We have called him regarding the case and he will be arrested soon.”
