Gurugram: Stone crusher company fined Rs 3.13 crore for power theft

During the raid, 583 KW load was found stolen. After this, the Electricity Corporation imposed a fine of Rs 3.13 crore on the guilty. The Chief Minister's Flying Squad team is also probing the role of the employees of the Electricity Corporation.

Gurugram: A fine of over Rs 3 crore has been imposed on a stone crusher company in Haryana’s Gurugram for power theft. This fine has been imposed on a stone crusher company, which was caught red-handed stealing electricity. Haryana Chief Minister’s Flying Squad team raided KTC crushers in Naurangpur crusher zone of Gurugram, during which large scale power theft was detected.

An official gave this information on Saturday. During the raid, 583 KW load was caught stealing. Here electricity was being stolen by bypassing the meter. On the spot, four big motors of 100 HP, four motors of 30 HP, 10 small motors of 20 HP were found running directly. Whose load is 583.95 KW. After this, the Electricity Corporation has imposed a fine of Rs 3.13 crore on the guilty. The Chief Minister’s Flying Squad team is also probing the involvement of the employees of the Electricity Corporation.

On the basis of secret information, the Chief Minister’s Flying Squad team along with Farukhnagar Vidyut Nigam raided a crusher named KTC of Ransingh of Shikohpur village of Naurangpur crusher zone. Electricity was being stolen by bypassing the meter in the crusher zone.

The line was directly connected to 11 KVA

The owner of the crusher plant had buried the 50 mm XLPE cable directly from the 11 KVA line separately in the ground to steal electricity. The squad extricated him from the JCB. The 50 mm XLPE cable, electricity meter and CT PT box used while stealing electricity by the Electricity Department were seized.

The crusher used to run at night with stolen electricity

During investigation, the squad came to know that accused Ran Singh had taken connection of an electric meter. At night he used to steal from a line buried under the soil. The department has fined it considering it as theft of six months according to the Act.
