Haryana: Former Congress President Dr. Ram Prakash died at the age of 84

New Delhi: Dr. Ram Prakash, a senior leader of Congress in Kurukshetra, former state president and former MP, has passed away at the age of 84 due to prolonged illness. After getting the information about his death, the party workers started reaching the residence in Sector 13. Senior Congress leader and former minister Ashok Arora and other leaders and activists have expressed deep grief over his death.

Haryana: Former Congress President Dr. Ram Prakash died at the age of 84

New Delhi: Dr. Ram Prakash, a senior leader of Congress in Kurukshetra, former state president and former MP, has passed away at the age of 84 due to prolonged illness. After getting the information about his death, the party workers started reaching the residence in Sector 13.

Senior Congress leader and former minister Ashok Arora and other leaders and activists have expressed deep grief over his death. Dr. Ram Prakash has been the leader of the Congress party, who was very close to the former chief minister of the state, Bhupendra Singh Hooda. Dr. Ram Prakash was a member of the Rajya Sabha from 2007-2014 and was also the Chancellor of Gurukul Kangri University.

Dr. Ram Prakash was born on October 5, 1939 in Tangore village of the district to an OBC (Other Backward Caste) and Vishwakarma background. Through hard work, he passed his MSc and PhD degrees in Chemistry from Panjab University, Chandigarh and then taught in this institute for a long time. Later he was the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the new Kurukshetra University for some time.

He entered politics in 1990–1991 and won local elections in 1999 on the ticket of Indian National Congress Party. Being close to former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda, he was also the working state president of the Congress and was elevated to the Rajya Sabha in 2007.
