Hema Malini Comments on Suspension of 141 MPs. BJP MP and actor Hema Malini addressed the suspension of 141 MPs from both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha, attributing it to their unconventional behavior and extensive questioning. Malini emphasized that the suspension was warranted, asserting the importance of adhering to parliamentary rules. In response, Congress leaders mocked the actor, suggesting that the real reason behind the suspensions had been exposed.

Taking to Twitter, Telangana Congress leader Sam Ram Mohan Reddy shared Hema Malini’s video, quoting her statement: “They ask too many questions, that’s why they are suspended.” The Congress leaders portrayed this as a revelation from a BJP MP regarding the true cause behind the suspension of opposition MPs.

The mass suspension of 141 MPs, comprising 95 from the Lok Sabha and 46 from the Rajya Sabha, followed a security breach on December 13. The suspension was triggered by the opposition’s demand for a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the security breach incident. This session has been marked by unprecedented turmoil, with some MPs suspended for the remainder of the session while others await the report of the privileges committee on their conduct.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who was subsequently suspended, expressed solidarity with his colleagues, emphasizing the need for government accountability. The session also witnessed protests from suspended MPs, including an incident where Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee mimicked Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, leading to further controversy.

This development has fueled a new row, highlighting the tense atmosphere in Parliament, marked by the security breach and subsequent suspensions.
