Heroic move of Bengaluru doctor, quick CPR action saves woman at polling booth | Watch

A woman suffered a sudden cardiac arrest during the second phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. Coincidentally, a doctor who came to vote saved his life with the help of CPR.

Bengaluru: In Bengaluru, a doctor swung into action to save a woman who collapsed at a polling booth on Friday (April 26). Nephrologist and transplant physician Dr Ganesh Srinivas Prasad was waiting in the queue along with several others when the woman fainted.

This incident happened near Jumbo Saavari Dinne, Nagar 8th Level, Bengaluru. A woman who came to vote suffered a heart attack. A doctor who came to vote at the same polling station saved him. A woman of about 50 years came to vote and went to drink water. During this time she suddenly fell. Kidney specialist from Dr. Narayana Health CT Center came to vote at the same polling station and stood in the queue. When Dr. Ganesh Srinivas Prasad saw the woman, he realized the danger. She and another woman immediately ran to help him.

According to Dr. Prasad, the woman suffered cardiac arrest at the polling booth. Recognizing that he had no pulse, the nephrologist in Bengaluru immediately started performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). His intervention successfully revived the woman, who regained spontaneous circulation shortly afterwards.

Dr Prasad shared a photo of the woman lying on the ground and a video in which she is seen awake and lying on a stretcher.

When Dr. Ganesh checked his health, he found that his pulse was fluctuating. No reaction was seen in the body. The doctor immediately performed CPR and his health improved. Later, the staff on election duty arrived and gave him juice and took him to the hospital in an ambulance. Giving information about this, Dr. Ganesh Srinivas said, ‘Seeing the woman falling, I ran to help.

I checked his pulse and it was very low. While examining his eyes, there was no reaction. His body showed no reaction and he was suffocating. I immediately performed CPR and his condition improved. Then the election duty people ran and gave juice. An ambulance was called and he was taken to the hospital. If there was delay in treatment, his life was in danger.
