Hyderabad: In a sudden turn of events, ex-Telangana Deputy CM Mahmood Ali fainted during the 75th Republic Day celebrations at the Telangana Bhawan on Friday morning. A video of the incident has surfaced on the internet which shows the leader in an unconscious state, with other leaders around him providing support to him and rubbing his hands in an attempt to help him regain consciousness.

The incident added a moment of concern to the patriotic celebration, prompting prompt attention and medical attention for Mahmood Ali.

President Droupadi Murmu hoisted the national flag at the Kartavya Path on the 75th Republic Day. Parade Commander and General Officer Commanding, Delhi Area, Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar led the parade, followed by Parade Second-in-Command and Chief of Staff HQ, Delhi Area, Major General Sumit Mehta.

Winners of the highest gallantry awards, including the Param Vir Chakra and the Ashok Chakra, followed the parade commander.

The armed forces will display home-grown weaponry and military equipment such as missiles, drone jammers, surveillance systems, vehicle-mounted mortars and BMP-II infantry combat vehicles at the parade.

For the first time to mark historical significance, an all-women tri-services contingent will be part of the event. A total of 16 tableaux from states and Union territories and nine from central ministries and departments will roll down the Kartavya Path during the parade.

The Republic Day event is slated to be around of 60 minutes.
