New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department predicts heavy rain alert has been issued in UP and Bihar today. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be heavy rains in 50 districts including UP’s capital Lucknow today. Areas around Farrukhabad, Balrampur, Kannauj, Bareilly, Shravasti, Bahraich, Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur have been alerted.
At the same time, an alert has been issued for heavy rain in 10 districts of Bihar. Heavy rain has been warned in Madhepura, Saharsa, Madhubani, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, West Champaran, Kishanganj, Araria, Purnia, Madhepura.
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rains in many areas of Uttarakhand today. Red alert has been issued in Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital and Champawat of Kumaon. At the same time, there is an Orange Alert for Dehradun.
Let us tell you that for the past several days, rains have wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand. Landslides have been reported from many places including Uttarkashi.
According to the Meteorological Department, moderate to heavy rain is likely over Sikkim, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Meghalaya and Coastal Karnataka today.
On the other hand, light to moderate rains may occur over Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, East Rajasthan, South Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Delhi for the next six days. Yellow alert has been issued for rain even today. In the capital, where normal life is affected due to floods, now the rains can bring new trouble. However, IMD says that there is no possibility of heavy rains in Delhi.
People are already troubled by the floods in the capital and now the rain alert has added to their woes. Due to rains in Delhi today, the problem of water-logging can be seen in many places.
There may also be a problem in draining the flood water. Already ITO, Kashmere Gate, Civil Line, Mayur Vihar and many areas have water up to 5 feet.
