IMD forecast issues orange alert for Uttarakhand today, rainfall in parts of India for next 24 hours

New Delhi: Rain is counting in Uttarakhand, due to which normal life is getting affected. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no relief from rain for the next few days. The department expressed the possibility of rain this week as well.

New Delhi: Rain is counting in Uttarakhand, due to which normal life is getting affected. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no relief from rain for the next few days. The department expressed the possibility of rain this week as well. There are reports of landslides in many places in the state. People are facing many problems due to the blocking of the road.

According to the Meteorological Center, Orange Alert has been issued for Bageshwar and Champawat districts. There is a possibility of heavy rains in these two districts today. Whereas, there is a yellow alert in Dehradun, Haridwar, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar. The Meteorological Center has predicted rain with thunder and lightning in most parts of Bageshwar and Champawat.

The department has issued a warning that due to landslides and rock fall at some places in sensitive areas, obstruction/erosion can be seen in roads/highways. There can be water logging in low-lying areas. According to the forecast of the department, there is a possibility of heavy rains in the state till August 7.

Search rescue operation and search work is going on for 20 people missing due to heavy landslide near Shri Kedarnath Yatra Marg Gaurikund Dotpulia. During the search and rescue, bodies of 03 people have been recovered so far, whose identification is being done.

Teams of DDRF, SDRF, NDRF, ITBP, YMF, Police and District Administration are present in the rescue and search work. Today Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will visit Gaurikund at 12 noon.

According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rain is possible over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Northeast Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal during next 24 hours.

Light to moderate rains with isolated heavy falls are possible over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Light rain is possible over Northeast India, Odisha, South Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
