IMD forecast predicts heavy rainfall entire North India in next 3 days

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a rain and hail warning in various states across the country. IMD Senior Scientist Dr. Naresh Kumar has said that a three-day orange alert has been issued for rains in almost the entire North India due to the western disturbance.

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a rain and hail warning in various states across the country. With the daily weather fluctuating between scorching heat and dark clouds that bring heavy rain, the weather bureau assures the country that there will be no heatwave problem for the next three days.

IMD Senior Scientist Dr. Naresh Kumar has said that a three-day orange alert has been issued for rains in almost the entire North India due to the western disturbance. Delhi will also continue to rain for the next three days. So if you are going out of the house, take your raincoat and umbrella. The rains in Delhi on Monday led to waterlogging at many places, affecting traffic.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rain and hail warnings in various states across the country. With the daily weather fluctuating between scorching heat and dark clouds bringing heavy rains, the weather bureau has said that the entire country will not experience a heat wave for the next three days.

The IMD said on Twitter: “Light to moderate rain accompanied with thunderstorms very likely over adjoining areas of Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Wind speed reaching 30-40 km/hr. Scattered with Light rain/drizzle will occur. Scattered rain is also likely over Delhi NCR from Monday to Wednesday.”

According to the information, after continuous snowfall in Kedarnath Dham, the IMD has issued a warning of hailstorm and thunderstorm for Uttarakhand from Sunday for the next four days, due to which the journey of pilgrims going to Kedarnath-Badrinath may be affected. Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal of Uttarakhand has also seen heavy rain and continuous snowfall. Due to this, pilgrims going to Badrinath and Kedarnath have been stopped in Srinagar.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of severe thunderstorms across the country from May 1 to May 2, 2023.

IMD tweeted, “Heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred over South India (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe) during May 01-03 and thereafter the pace of rains would reduce.

Heavy alert has been issued for Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana region. Similarly, in the eastern part too, heavy rains are likely over many areas from Bihar, Jharkhand to South Karnataka.

IMD scientist said, “The temperature will be below normal across the country due to rain and thundershowers. Temperatures are expected to be below 9-10 degrees Celsius in Delhi-NCR region, Haryana and Punjab. It will be 3-5 degrees Celsius on cloudy days may extend to degrees.”

The IMD has also issued a warning of thunderstorm and light to moderate rain in various districts of Maharashtra. “During the next 3-4 hours, lightning and light to moderate rain with gusty winds of 30-40 kmph are expected at isolated places over Nanded, Parbhani, Latur, Osmanabad, Dhule and Nandurbar districts. There is a possibility.” People have also been urged to exercise caution while stepping out.

The Regional Weather Forecast Center (RWFC) in Delhi has forecast light to moderate rain with scattered showers over the surrounding areas of NCR. NCR (Bahadurgarh, Faridabad, Ballabgarh) Mattanhel, Jhajjar, Palwal, Aurangabad, Hodal (Haryana) Jattari, Khair, Nandgaon, Ganjdundwara, Barsana, Eta, Daurala will receive light to moderate rain.
