IMD forecast predicts rain and thunderstorms occur in these states from March 14 to 17

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), between March 15 and 17, many states of South India, Central India, East and North-East India are likely to experience light to moderate rains with thunderstorms. 15th March may rain in many states of Northeast. Heavy rain is expected in Arunachal Pradesh on March 15.

New Delhi: Rain is likely to occur in many parts of India in the next few days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), between March 15 and 17, many states of South India, Central India, East and North-East India are likely to experience light to moderate rains with thunderstorms.

According to IMD, a cyclonic circulation has formed in the lower troposphere levels in South Assam and its neighbourhood. Due to this, rainfall is likely to occur at many places along with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds (speed of 30-40 km per hour) in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast India till March 14. 15th March may rain in many states of Northeast. Heavy rain is expected in Arunachal Pradesh on March 15.

According to the IMD, meanwhile, a Western Disturbance in the lower tropospheric levels and a cyclonic circulation is located over Southwest Rajasthan and its neighbourhood. Due to its effect, rain has been predicted in the western Himalayan region in the next few days.

The IMD said in its weather bulletin that there is a possibility of scattered rain with thunder and lightning in the western Himalayan region from 13 to 15. While rain has been predicted in many states including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

According to IMD, during March 15 to 17, Bengal, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha are very likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph). Light to moderate rain is likely with a speed of .

While on March 16 and 17, there may be rains in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
