New Delhi: Monsoon has now advanced into most parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Northern Limit of Monsoon is now passing through Alibag, Solapur, Udgir, Nagpur, Mandla, Sonbhadra, Buxar, Siddharthnagar, Pantnagar, Bijnor, Yamunanagar, Una and Drass.
Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, most parts of Maharashtra, rest of Bihar, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Chandigarh, Delhi including parts of Haryana, Gujarat, East Rajasthan and Punjab during next 2 days Conditions are favorable for further advance of Monsoon.
IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Odisha and Uttarakhand on June 25. Red alert has been issued for heavy rains in Uttarakhand. Today, heavy to very heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Chhattisgarh.
Along with this, separate rains were observed over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh-Delhi, Punjab, East Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala and Mahe. Heavy rain is expected at places.
IMD has issued Orange Alert for heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, Western Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha today. Today, rain with thunder and lightning is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, East Rajasthan, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
IMD has forecast squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph over west central and southwest and adjoining east central Arabian Sea and Gulf of Mannar and along and off north Andhra Pradesh coast and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal today. Squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph very likely along & off Kerala-Karnataka-Maharashtra coasts, Lakshadweep area, southwest & adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal along and off Sri Lanka coast, Odisha-West Bengal coasts There is a possibility of reaching 50 km per hour. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into these areas.
