IMD issues heatwave alert in UP, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh

Weather Update Today: The scorching heat continues to wreak havoc in most of the states of the country. Many states of the country are facing the heat these days. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert in many states between May 20 and 22.

New Delhi: The scorching heat continues to wreak havoc in most of the states of the country. Many states of the country are facing the heat these days. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert in many states between May 20 and 22.

IMD issued alert regarding heatwave
According to the Meteorological Department, heatwave conditions will prevail in the areas of South Uttar Pradesh from May 20 to May 22. Apart from this, people may have to face heatwave on 20 and 21 May in parts of West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh. Along with this, heatwave conditions will be seen in North Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand from May 21 to 23.

At the same time, people in Delhi-NCR are also facing the brunt of the scorching heat. According to the Meteorological Department, the heat will be high for the next two days. Because of this, the temperature can reach 42 degree Celsius. After this, it may rain once again next week. The Meteorological Department said that the sky will be clear on Saturday and the temperature can reach 41 degrees Celsius. The sky may become cloudy once again from Sunday due to western disturbance being active.

Monsoon reaches Nicobar and Andaman Sea
Southwest Monsoon has advanced into southeast Bay of Bengal, Nicobar Islands and south Andaman Sea on Friday. This has set the stage for four months of rainy season in the country. The Indian Meteorological Department said that the Southwest Monsoon has witnessed thundershowers over parts of southeast Bay of Bengal, Nicobar Islands and southern Andaman Sea. Southwest Monsoon is expected to advance over these areas during next 3-4 days.

The Meteorological Department expresses the possibility of delay in arrival of monsoon
Concerns have been raised about monsoon rains this year in view of the emergency of El Nino weather pattern. Keep in mind that earlier this week the Meteorological Office had said that there could be some delay in the monsoon this time. Because there is a possibility of delay in the arrival of monsoon in Kerala whereas usually monsoon touches the coasts of Kerala on June 1. In El Nino, the water surface of the Pacific Ocean near South America becomes extremely warm and this affects the surrounding environment.
