IMD issues warning of heavy rain from UP-Bihar to Uttarakhand today

New Delhi: Many parts of India including Bihar and Uttarakhand received heavy to very heavy rainfall during the last 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Northeast India, Bihar and Uttarakhand during the next five days.

New Delhi: Many parts of India including Bihar and Uttarakhand received heavy to very heavy rainfall during the last 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Northeast India, Bihar and Uttarakhand during the next five days. On the other hand, the sticky heat and humidity are likely to increase in the coming days in the capital Delhi.

IMD has said in its bulletin, ‘This pattern is expected to continue till Saturday. During this period, the chances of isolated heavy rainfall are more likely over the region of Uttarakhand. According to the Meteorological Department, in North West India, the weather forecast indicates the possibility of light to moderate, scattered to fairly widespread rains.

Additionally, areas of East Uttar Pradesh are expected to experience these conditions on Wednesday and Saturday. There is a similar forecast for western Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. According to IMD, today there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at different places in Uttarakhand, Bihar. Heavy rain is also likely at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Thunderstorm very likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.According to the Meteorological Department, there may be very heavy rains on Wednesday and Thursday in the region of Uttarakhand in the coming days. On the contrary, relatively less rain activity is expected over other parts of Northwest India in the coming week.

On the other hand, heavy rain is forecast in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. In central, west and south India, the level of rainfall activity is expected to reduce over these regions in the coming week. The weather forecast shows that these areas will receive minimum rainfall during the next seven days.
