IMD predicts heavy rain occurs in these states including Uttarakhand today

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a new weather forecast in which heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in different areas of India in the next 4-5 days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, North Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during next 4-5 days.

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a new weather forecast in which heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in different areas of India in the next 4-5 days. Due to the monsoon weather the process of heavy rain is going on in the whole country. Rivers and drains are in spate in many states, a flood-like situation is prevailing. IMD alert heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, North Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during next 4-5 days.

According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will be generally cloudy and there will be light rain in the capital Delhi (Delhi-NCR Weather) on Sunday. At the same time, there is a possibility of increase in rain activity in the Northeast region in the coming five days.

Light to moderate rain, fairly widespread with scattered to very heavy falls likely over Northwest India including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana-Chandigarh, Punjab, East Rajasthan and Jammu till August 9.

There may be very heavy rains at different places in East Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand from Sunday till August 8. Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls can be expected over East India including Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal till August 8. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar may receive very heavy rain at isolated places till August 8.

According to the IMD, the Northeast region, which includes Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur, will receive light to moderate, fairly widespread rainfall, with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places.

Light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over West India, with heavy rain likely to continue over Konkan, Goa and Coastal Madhya Maharashtra during next five days. Whereas in South India, rain activity is expected to reduce during the next five days.

According to the Meteorological Department, today there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at different places in Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur. On the other hand, heavy rains are expected at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand and Madhya Maharashtra.
