IMD predicts rain occurs in 21 states including Delhi-NCR, issues orange alert for Uttarakhand

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department predicts sky will be generally cloudy in Delhi-NCR today and light rain or drizzle is expected. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at different places in Uttarakhand on August 14 i.e. today. In view of this, Orange Alert has also been issued in Uttarakhand today.

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department predicts sky will be generally cloudy in Delhi-NCR today and light rain or drizzle is expected. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the maximum temperature in Delhi to be up to 34 degrees Celsius today. On August 13, the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 35.3 degree Celsius, which was 1 degree Celsius more than the normal temperature.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at different places in Uttarakhand on August 14 i.e. today. In view of this, Orange alert has also been issued in Uttarakhand today. In Himachal Pradesh today, there is a possibility of light and scattered rain at many places to heavy rain at some places.

According to IMD today, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Odisha in South India today Heavy rain is likely at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

While lightening and thundershower occurred at many places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jharkhand, Odisha, South Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. It is expected to happen.

According to IMD, the Monsoon Trough is located north of its normal position. It is very likely to move north of its normal position or over foothills of Himalayas during next 4-5 days. After that it is likely to move slowly towards south towards its normal position. At the same time, a Cyclonic Circulation is present over East Bangladesh and its adjoining areas. In whose lower troposphere level a trough is formed.

According to IMD, Western Disturbance is active in the form of a trough in the mid-tropospheric westerly winds, whose axis is 5.8 km above sea level. All these activities are expected to have an effect on the weather in the coming times. IMD said that 45-55 km in west central and adjoining southwest and northwest Arabian Sea. From per hour to 65 km. There is a possibility of wind blowing at a high speed per hour. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into these areas.
