India records 1,223 new infections in last 24 hours, active cases crosses 16,000 mark

New Delhi: There has been a decline in the cases of corona in the country. In the last 24 hours, 1223 new cases of corona have been reported in the country, which is a lesser figure than in the past. It is clear from this that the corona infection is under control in the country.

New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, 1223 new cases of corona have been reported in the country, which is a lesser figure than in the past. It is clear from this that the corona infection is under control in the country.

With this, the total number of corona cases in the country has gone up to 16,498. The death toll has climbed to 5,31,767 with 14 fatalities which includes those reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated. The COVID-19 tally now stands at 4.49 crore (4,49,74,909).

The number of people who have recovered from the disease surged to 4,44,21,781, while the case fatality rate stood at 1.18 per cent. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.77 per cent, the ministry said.

According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. Talking about the states, the active cases of corona have reduced in most of the states as well. Corona cases have remained 239 in Bihar.

There are 483 active cases in Chhattisgarh, 399 in Delhi, 224 in Gujarat, 420 in Haryana, 356 in Karnataka. The states which have the maximum number of corona cases include Kerala (4593), Maharashtra (1032), Odisha (3143), West Bengal (2111).
