India the 8th Most Polluted Country Worldwide.

India improved its ranking as it dropped from 5th to 8th place. Delhi has been ranked the fourth most polluted city in the world.

New Delhi:In the list of most polluted cities in the world, out of the 50 cities, 39 are in India. Ranked India the world’s eighth most polluted country in 2022.Chad, Iraq, Pakistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Kuwait, India, Egypt and Tajikistan the top 10 most polluted countries.

As per the report, In India, the transportation sector causes 20-35 per cent of the PM2.5 pollution while other sources of pollution are industrial units, coal-fired power plants and biomass burning.After the two top most-polluted cities, Lahore in Pakistan and Hotan in China, Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi is in third place and Delhi ranked fourth.

Delhi has so far been the most polluted capital in the world and the report made a distinction between ‘greater’ Delhi and New Delhi the capital. Both are in the top 10 and the infamous distinction of being the world’s most polluted capital goes to Chad’s N’Djamena.

Delhi along with NCR cities Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad have seen a drop in pollution levels. Compared to the average PM2.5, Gurugram improved by 34%, Faridabad by 21%. Delhi has improved only by 8%, but pollution in these cities is still very high. Children are most at risk from this. His lungs are being affected by the pollution. Health problems are increasing in the elderly.

72 of the 100 most polluted cities are in South Asia. Most of these cities are from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. In the report, South Asia has been described as the center of air pollution. On the basis of this report, the World Bank has analyzed the expenditure to cut pollution. For this, $ 2.6 billion will have to be spent.
