Indian Railways Announces Special Trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja 2023

Diwali and Chhath Puja 2023: As the festive season approaches, Indian Railways is gearing up to accommodate the surge in passenger demand during Diwali and Chhath Puja. To facilitate the travel of individuals celebrating these festivals with their families, the Railway Ministry has introduced a substantial number of special trains, particularly catering to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishanaw had previously revealed plans for 283 special trains nationwide during the holiday season. A significant portion of these trains will connect Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune to various cities in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

One notable addition is the 09189 Mumbai Central-Katihar (Weekly) Special Mail and Express train, operating daily from Mumbai Central at 10:30 am between November 11 and November 25. Additionally, the 09190 Mumbai Central-Katihar (Weekly) Special Mail and Express train will run every Tuesday from November 14 to November 28, departing from Katihar at 00:15 am and arriving at Mumbai Central on Wednesdays at 18:40 pm. This train offers a range of coach classes, including AC-2, AC-3, Sleeper, General, among others.

Another special service is the Vadodara Junction-Gorakhpur Junction (Weekly) Special Mail/Express train. Departing every Monday from Vadodara Junction at 7:00 pm between November 13 and November 27, the train (number 09101) reaches Gorakhpur the following day at 11:30 pm. Similarly, train number 09102 operates every Wednesday from November 15 to November 29, leaving Gorakhpur at 5:00 am and arriving at Vadodara the next day at 8:35 am. This service also includes AC-1, AC-2, AC-3, Sleeper, General, and other coach categories.

दीपावली एवं छठ पूजा त्यौहारों के दौरान रेलयात्रियों के सुविधाजनक आवागमन हेतु उत्तर रेलवे द्वारा अन्य क्षेत्रीय रेलों के सहयोग से दिनांक 11.11.2023 से 17.11.2023 तक पूर्व दिशा की ओर निम्नलिखित त्यौहार विशेष रेलगाड़ियाँ चलाई जायेंगी, जिनका विवरण निम्नानुसार हैः-
