Jammu and Kashmir: On Friday, two Army jawans were injured as firing resumed between militants and security forces at the encounter site in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir.
During the encounter that has been going on in the area since yesterday, one militant was killed and a civilian was also injured . Firing resumed after a brief lull.
After receiving information about the presence of militants in the area, a joint team of police and army had launched a search operation in Naupora.
As the team approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire on the security forces, triggering an encounter.
A top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander is believed to be trapped in the area along with his associate. Police have reached the spot to assess the situation.
